FRESH START AT ARSENAL BUT SPURS ARE FAVOURITES

-

IT FEELS like a new beginning at Arsenal. With the artistry of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, they embarrassed Everton. The cloud hanging over the club has been lifted and the mood changed almost overnight. But Arsenal’s appalling away record means I cannot make them favourites. They have won just three of their 13 Premier League away games and at times they have been so bad I have found it difficult to watch. It is their inability to stay in games away from home long enough to grind out results which prevents them from competing for league titles. To win the Premier League, you need to have a strong core of defenders who are demanding of the forward players and remind them of their duties without the ball.
