WHO WANTS TO BE KANE’S NEMESIS?

-

WHEN Harry Kane finishes his career, there will be one defender who he names as his most difficult opponent. Someone who he could never truly get the better of. That has to be the objective for the Arsenal defenders: to become that player.

What makes it difficult when defending against Kane is he’s prolific with both feet. He goes for power on his right or feints and curls one in with his left. Defenders have to be wise to what he is going to do and close him down quickly. To prepare for facing him, I would watch videos of his movement and learn when he shoots and when he does not.

You also must pay Kane special attention in the box. I can’t believe how easy it’s been for him to score of late. At corners, defenders have switched off and allowed him tap-ins.

Arsenal use a zonal marking system but there is room for adjustment. Arsene Wenger should put his best marker on Kane at set-pieces. Arsenal must not give him any gifts, they must make him earn his 101st Premier League goal.
