Top dollar George
STILL smarting from his sacking from the Cabinet in 2016, george Osborne has used his editorship of the london Evening Standard to attack Theresa May. Osborne, who has not ruled out a return to politics, has also been busy exploiting his six years as Chancellor. Along with his sixfigure salary, he has a one-day-aweek consultancy with hedge fund Blackrock that nets him a staggering £650,000 a year, and of course his highly lucrative, one-off speaking engagements. But he must be careful not to price himself out of the market. An invitation to talk about the capital’s future post-Brexit recently was withdrawn after the Washington Speakers Bureau — the agency which represents Osborne — demanded £54,000.
