Pamela is happy to be left holding the baby
WHEN the Queen’s bridesmaid Lady Pamela Hicks contracted lifethreatening pneumonia last month, she was kept waiting on an NHS hospital trolley for 20 hours.
Happily, the 88-year-old daughter of Earl Mountbatten, who is also a cousin of Prince Philip, appears to be making a speedy recovery.
At the weekend, she was pictured for the first time since her illness holding her one- month- old grandson Caspian (right), the son of interior designer Ashley Hicks and his fashionista wife, Kata.
In January, Lady Pamela’s daughter India revealed the aristocrat was taken to hospital in an ambulance in the middle of the night after collapsing at her home, and said she was left on a trolley because every bed in the hospital was taken.
Lady Pamela has since been convalescing in the comfort of her own bed in Oxfordshire.
