Briton missing after stag night

-

FEARS were last night growing for a British reveller who disappeared during his brother’s stag night in Hamburg.

Liam Colgan, pictured, may have fallen in one of the city’s canals or been the victim of crime, a German police source said. However, the source added: ‘The hope is that he will wake up from a bender and come home safely.’

Mr Colgan, 29, was last seen in a bar in the notorious Reeperbahn red light district in the early hours of Saturday.

The postman from Inverness had been in the city for his brother Eamonn’s stag party, which he helped to organise, and is due to be the best man at the wedding in three weeks.

The search for Mr Colgan began on Sunday with family members flying out to help. A family friend Alan Pearson described the disappearance as ‘completely out of character’.
