At 71, silver-haired Joanna acts her age
WHETHER she was playing Purdey in the New Avengers or Ab Fab’s Patsy, Joanna Lumley’s bombshell blonde locks always stole the show.
But the actress, 71, has ditched the peroxide for her latest role – instead sporting startling silver hair.
The Absolutely Fabulous star has gone grey – though perhaps a wig was needed – for film Finding Your Feet, a comedy in which her character, Jackie, rediscovers her youth after divorcing as a retiree.
Miss Lumley’s blonde bob will no doubt make a return on Sunday, when she will host the Baftas for the first time after taking over from Stephen Fry.
Of her Bafta role, she said: ‘Honestly, how exciting is this? It’s just so unbelievably thrilling. I said yes indecently quickly.’
