Scudamore eyes O2 gig
PREMIER LEAGUE chief Richard Scudamore put forward a proposal to clubs last week about a ‘PL experience’. This would be a hi-tech, interactive exhibition involving all 20 clubs at a tourist venue such as the O2 and with blue-chip company support, similar to the popular NFL experience in New York’s Times Square.
A vote to explore the possibility was supported by 19 clubs, with only Manchester United not in favour. They, as ever, would prefer to put on their own show rather than committing to a 20-club revenue share. And the PL experience may cut across one of their many global commercial deals.
