THE combinatio­n of a phone rubbing against your face and the heat it gives off can cause a sweat rash and, if you’ve already got broken skin on your face — whether it’s a scratch or a spot — any bugs your phone has picked up could be transferre­d to your skin, triggering more spots. Which? Magazine found that, on average, a phone had 18 times more harmful germs on it than the flush handle in a men’s lavatory. Bacteria can exacerbate spots because they cause inflammati­on.
