NAIL VARNISH

-

‘CERTAIN in gredients in nail varnish can cause eczema, but you tend not to see it around the fingers as the polish is usually wiped off if it ends up on the skin,’ says dermatologist Dr Susan Mayou. ‘However, if a woman comes to me with eczema around her eyes, I ask if she wears nail varnish. The nails often touch the eye area when applying make-up, and as the skin around the eye is more sensie tive, this is where you will often see a reaction. If affected, you will need to change your nail polish.’
