Javed Ahmed, 58 Chief executive, Tate & Lyle
THE chief executive of sugar firm Tate & Lyle has given £ 8.5m of stock to his two children after announcing his retirement.
Javed Ahmed, 58, is stepping down in April to be replaced by finance chief Nick Hampton. In a market announcement yesterday, the company said Ahmed and his wife Talat had transferred 1.5m shares to their two daughters, Ayesha and Sara.
Ahmed took charge of Tate & Lyle in 2009 and has since presided over an almost 40pc rise in its share price.
