MANU TARGETS LES BLEUS

- CHRIS FOY

MANU TUILAGI resumes his bid for match fitness today, driven by the prospect of a place in England’s plans for their clash with France next month. Tuilagi, 26, makes his second successive start for Leicester in the Premiership clash with Harlequins at Welford Road following recovery from a calf problem, the latest of a series of injuries. Today’s match, a trip to Saracens next weekend and Worcester at Sixways on March 4 are the fixtures which could allow him to force his way back into Test contention. Tuilagi last started for England in June 2014. Scotland next weekend will be too soon, but

Sportsmail understands that Eddie Jones is keen to involve him against Les Bleus in Paris on March 10. At the start of the NatWest 6 Nations, Jones said: ‘I’d like to see him get fit. If he does that, there might be a stage where we can bring him back.’ That stage is approaching.
