IOC to target Pengilly
ADAM PENGILLY, British IOC member sent home from Pyeongchang after an altercation with a security guard, is now facing pressure from the IOC to resign from his vice-presidency of the International Bobsleigh Association.
It looks as if this is payback time for the IOC after Pengilly spoke out in Rio in opposition to the IOC decision not to ban drugs-tainted Russia from competing.

gambling site BetSave, the Scandinavian-based betting partners of Manchester City, have laid off a number of marketing staff from their London office. So did 888sport before announcing they were ending their football partnerships with Nottingham Forest and Birmingham, which included shirt sponsorships, at the end of the season. City say they are aware of BetSave’s restructuring and will review the contract.
ENGLAND cricketers have already voiced their fears about their team agent David Leatherdale, chief executive of the Professional Cricketers’ Association, having too cosy a relationship with the ECB ahead of central contract talks.
And the PCA’s revised mission statement will only increase concerns for international and county players. The previous edict referred to the ‘abolition of all restrictions which affect the social and financial position of members’. Now it reads: ‘The PCA champions the ongoing interests of professional cricketers in England and Wales.’
But it is the ‘financial position’ at a time when the ECB is awash with TV rights funding that is the central issue for the cricketers.
