Injury-hit Wasps win ‘arm wrestle’
DAI YOUNG praised a magnificent effort from Wasps’ defence as they overcame the loss of four injured players to beat Exeter at the Ricoh Arena. Danny Cipriani, Marcus Watson, Alex Rieder and Jack Willis were all second-half casualties for the hosts but Wasps still gained revenge for last season’s Aviva Premiership final defeat, with Watson scoring their only try. Director of rugby Young said: ‘It was a real arm wrestle but we matched them physically and just did enough to win.’
