-

JONNY EVANS EVAN and the other trio of senior players pl at the centre of controvers controversy were labelled ‘ridiculousl ‘ridiculously stupid’ by the former Alb Albion captain John Wile. ‘To do what they have done, knowing t they were out beyond the curfew curfe — I actually thought the curfew curf was very genero generous at 12 — and then to do something som ridiculously stupid like li take a taxi, beggars belief,’ said Wile. ‘What surp surprised me is these aren’t kids. They’re four adults, four very s senior professionals, and that’s just j not the sort of behaviour you’d expect from someone o of their standing.’ Wile, 70, who wh played 500 games for West Br Brom in the 1970s and 1980s, told BBC Radio 5 Live: ‘It’s total disres disrespect for the people who are employing em them and for the people who support them every week week. ‘These guys are revered by thousands of people, they should set an exam example. Even if they do fine the players, pla unfortunately it doesn’t mean me a lot today. ‘Managers and clubs in general are in a diff difficult position with players. The power has shifted dramatica dramatically to players and agents.’ Wile adde added: ‘They (West Brom) don’t have hav the luxury of saying we can d do without these players b because they don’t have eno enough good players. ‘It must be a very, very difficult job to control if they behave in such a way as they have. The T only conclusion you c can draw is that things

aren aren’t right (at the club).’
