U.S. gun madness

YET another school massacre in the U.S., and it doesn’t take a genius to know the root cause.

It is the ease with which disillusioned Americans can obtain automatic and semi- automatic weapons that can kill so many people in a matter of minutes.

But President Donald Trump’s response, with his endorsement from the National Rifle Association, will be no change to gun laws. KEITH DEVERILL, Crowthorne, Berks. I UNDERSTAND the good sense of allowing citizens to bear arms as a means of defending themselves and securing food in centuries gone by, but to allow guns to be bought over the counter without any checks beggars belief in a modern society.
