DeGale sinks Eubank title bid
CHRIS EUBANK JNR’S hopes of bouncing straight from his crushing defeat by George Groves into another world super-middleweight title fight have been dashed. Eubank announced his intention to challenge Caleb Truax for the IBF belt but the American is deep in negotiations for a rematch with James DeGale, whose title he took in December. Talks over a return fight in London this spring are at an advanced stage. Groves, who reached the World Super Series final despite dislocating a shoulder in Saturday’s victory, believes he will recover in time to take his place in the showpiece on June 2 against Callum Smith or Jurgen Brahmer, who fight this Saturday. ‘I’m a quick healer,’ said Groves.
