WITH Germany exporting £26 billion more in goods annually to the UK than we export to them, it is hardly surprising that Angela Merkel is looking for a good trade deal following Brexit.

No doubt she has been influenced by the likes of Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, BMW and Siemens.

It is unfortunate the Brexit negotiations are being handled by politicians and civil servants rather than business people, who would have had a deal completed by now.
