COLLINGWOOD IN FRAME FOR T20 JOB
ENGLAND will make a choice between Paul Farbrace and Paul Collingwood should they take Trevor Bayliss’s advice and replace him immediately as their Twenty20 coach. Bayliss, 55, caused a stir when he said he would happily stand down as England’s short-form coach now, ahead of quitting the job entirely after next year’s 50-over World Cup and the Ashes that follow it. Less controversial was a recommendation that his highly regarded assistant Farbrace should take the T20 reins or be groomed for the role. But Farbrace, 50, has a rival in the form of Collingwood, 41, who captained England to their only white-ball title at the 2010 World Twenty20. And the Durham man has an influential supporter in team director Andrew Strauss.
