23 Aug: He’s here — but so tiny
Alfie, our longed-for first baby, arrives at 1.56am in leeds General infirmary . Doctors had warned me he would need to be delivered early, as my placenta was failing and he wasn’t getting enough nutrients. But it was still a dreadful shock when i started bleeding and had to be rushed to hospital.
After an emergency C -section, Alfie is whisked away to the neo -natal unit. i don ’t see him until five hours later. He is tiny but perfect.
