ROSALIND FRANKLIN was a chemist and X-ray specialist whose pioneering work was essential to the unlocking of the secrets of DNA. Her work went largely unacknowledged until after her death. IN OUR TIME (RADIO 4, 9AM, 9.30PM) joins Melvyn Bragg and a team of experts as they discuss the life of a scientist whose career was overshadowed by male chauvinism.

IN THE second show of the latest series of RAMBLINGS (RADIO 4, 3PM), Clare Balding takes a night walk near the village of Greens Norton in Northamptonshire. Clare is joined by Christina Edwards, who grew up in the area and would often go for latenight walks with her dog when she was a teenager. Christina was in a poor state of health at the time due to anorexia, and these

walks were something of an obsession. Christina, now happy and well, looks back at those dark times and tells Clare how she found a way back to health and stability.

KELSEA BALLERINI (pictured) brought out her second studio album, Unapologetically, just before Christmas. The album picture shows her all dressed up like a wood fairy; the songs reflect the end of one romance and the start of another. Tennessee-born Kelsea is on BOB HARRIS COUNTRY (RADIO 2, 7PM) to perform a live session and talk about her appearance at next month’s C2C Festival.
