Fresh fears for Unilever’s HQ

-

CONSUMER goods giant Unilever is poised to ditch its UK headquarters, it was claimed last night.

The Anglo-Dutch firm, which owns the Lynx, Dove, and Domestos brands, has offices in London and Rotterdam and has been weighing the decision, prompting lobbying by officials from both countries. It has an unusual dual structure involving two parent companies listed and based separately in the UK and Holland.

Unilever last night said no decision had been made but a British official said the Government was braced for Rotterdam to win. The decision has become sensitive because of the UK’s impending exit from the European Union.
