Science degrees needed

SURELY the university courses that should have their tuition fees reduced are in the sciences, engineerin­g, technology and mathematic­s?

There has been a growing reluctance for students to take up such subjects beyond GCSE because of the perceived workload.

Reducing fees for these vital courses would encourage more to take them up at higher educationa­l levels, which can only be a good thing for the developmen­t of the country’s technical expertise.
