Listen to the real fans

WE DON’T need the Premier League and multi-million-pound footballers; Notts County, Lincoln City and Newport County have proved that true fans will follow the fortunes of their team.

If exalted players wish to go elsewhere, let them, and as a result more homegrown footballers will have a chance. Money-making parasites who have attached themselves to football can sling their hooks.

We will still support our chosen team, with or without prima donnas, and all of us could do without the inflated ticket prices.
