A word to Remoaners

-

REMOANERS wail like Private Frazer in Dad’s Army that ‘we’re all doomed’, so just ask them: ‘Why do you think you have the right to lock us in to the EU for ever?’

They will trot out all the usual reasons, some valid, such as trade, free movement and keeping the peace. Then again ask: ‘But why for ever?’

As a Leaver, I would be happy to stay in the EU if it allowed members a regular vote on whether to remain.

It happens in this country every five years when we go to the polls to elect the government. You might not get the result you want, but you accept it as you will get another chance in five years.

But EU leaders are unelected dictators. If the EU’s confident in its goal of a united Europe, it should let all its countries have a vote on membership. R. TAYLOR, Carlisle, Cumbria. THE reason Remain voters are better educated is that many have attended university since the mid-Nineties when non- academic liberal arts subjects were re-classified as degrees. They have thousands of pounds of debt and a worthless piece of paper. Politically correct vanity degrees are of limited use.

JOE CATER, Eastbourne, E. Sussex. SO THE oldies who voted Leave will die off and Brexit might be reversed by younger voters? Don’t be so sure.

My mother-in-law is 94 and voted Remain while her children and grandchildren voted Leave. Surely ours can’t be the only family whose youngsters wish to have our sovereignty restored?

M. F. MORLEY, Aston, Oxon.
