Commuters face fresh rail strike misery
SOUTHERN Railway staff are to stage another one-day strike in their two-year dispute over the role of train guards.
RMT union members will walk out on Monday, March 12, causing new disruption on busy commuter routes.
Union chief Mick Cash said rail bosses had rejected a new round of talks.
Southern’s parent company Govia Thameslink called the strike ‘pointless’ and said a normal service was expected on most routes.
A spokesman said the changes that the RMT objected to ‘were successfully introduced a year ago’.
