TWEET FROM REALITY TV STAR WIPES £1bn FROM SNAPCHAT

ALMOST £1bn was wiped off Snapchat’s value after reality TV star and socialite Kylie Jenner said she no longer uses the messaging app.

Shares in Snap slid 7pc in early trading as Jenner ( pictured), who has 24.5m followers on Twitter, said she had lost interest in the social media app. Around £930m was slashed from Snapchat’s value.

Jenner, who is the sister of Kim Kardashian, tweeted: ‘Sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me . . . ugh this is so sad.’ She later wrote: ‘Still love you tho snap . . . my first love’.

Snapchat’s recent redesign has sparked a backlash among users who have demanded that it brings the old design back. The company responded to a petition signed by 1.2m people this week saying the new version was here to stay.

Mother-of-one Jenner is worth around £38m and is considered to be one of the most influential people on social media.

She has more than 104m followers on photo sharing app Instagram.
