Killer shouts ‘murderers’ three times as he is executed

A DEATH Row inmate let out a blood-curdling scream and then yelled ‘murderers’ three times as he was executed in the US.

Eric Scott Branch, 47, was given a lethal injection for the 1993 rape and murder of a college student.

He thrashed around on a hospital trolley as he was being put to death and shouted ‘Murderers! Murderers! Murderers!’

Shortly before the execution at Florida State Prison in Starke, Branch told prison officers that they should not have to carry out the death sentence.

He said it should fall to Florida governor Rick Scott and his attorney general, Pam Bondi, to execute him. ‘Let them come down here and do it,’ Branch said. ‘I’ve learned that you’re good people and this is not what you should be doing.’

He was convicted of raping and fatally beating University of West Florida student Susan Morris, 21. Her naked body was found in a shallow grave. She had been beaten, sexually assaulted and strangled.

Branch was also convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-yearold girl in Indiana and of another sexual assault in Florida ten days before Miss Morris was killed.
