sponsorship woes have continued with Japanese car partners Toyota not renewing their backing, as they prioritise Olympic sports ahead of the 2020 Games in Tokyo. Some England players are worried that they will have to hand back their sponsored Toyota cars. Car sponsorship has caused headaches for the ECB in the past. Toyota’s predecessors Jaguar were annoyed that Kevin Pietersen (above) did not want to engage and arrived for England matches driving his Range Rover. An ECB spokesman said: ‘We are in discussions with potential replacements for Toyota as an official ECB partner.’
