Don’t forget the fans
GARY LINEKER looked pleased as punch when he and his sons met Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.
He needs to recall his days at Spurs, when I never saw him give the time of day to his young admirers, waiting for hours for his autograph.
Countless times I witnessed him driving out of the gateway, pointing to his watch, indicating to his fans that he had no time to spend with them. What a shame he couldn’t see their disappointment.
Lineker’s behaviour was so unlike his team-mate Teddy Sheringham, who always spent time meeting his fans.
