CHILDREN haven’t got the strength to use a pencil properly, because being given iPads as toddlers has stopped them developing finger dexterity (Mail). Does that explain the trend of children and young adults being unable to hold a knife and fork properly, and resorting instead to the shovel and tear process?

Give it ten years and all food will be eaten with fingers and a spoon — is that evolution?
