CITY PLAN TITLE VICTORY PARADE

- by JACK GAUGHAN @Jack_Gaughan

ManCHeSTer City have already started planning an end- of- season victory parade. Pep Guardiola is weeks away from clinching the Premier League title and collected his first piece of silverware, the Carabao Cup, on Sunday.

Sportsmail understands that club bosses have discussed the logistics of a parade through the city centre should they earn the points needed to guarantee a first title in four years.

The Premier League trophy has also been flown to abu dhabi when City have previously been crowned champions.

discussions with manchester City Council took place before beating arsenal at wembley and any procession will principally be to celebrate the title.

The date of the Champions League final, Saturday, may 26, is being taken into consideration, however the post- season celebrations would be trickier to organise should they make it.

That final is being held in Kiev, with a number of Guardiola’s stars jetting off for training camps with their national teams soon after ahead of the world Cup in russia, which kicks off on June 14.

There is a belief at the etihad Stadium that Guardiola will take City even deeper into the competition and their progress may have a bearing on when they can celebrate with supporters. City are already heading for the quarter-finals, given they have a four-goal lead over Basle in their last-16 tie.

Captain Vincent Kompany, scorer of City’s second goal at wembley on Sunday, warned against complacency in europe, however.

‘we are not favourites above real madrid or Barcelona,’ the Belgian said.

‘we’re just trying to fight our way in there and maybe shake things up. But one thing at a time. we have to play Basle first. we have to be careful about saying too much.’
