LOOKING at these pictures, it’s hard to believe that she had her first hit single more than 50 years ago.

Lulu, who turns 70 this year, looked almost completely wrinkle free when she appeared on BBC1’s The One Show on Wednesday. Viewers were astonished by her youthful complexion as she promoted her forthcoming role in West End musical 42nd Street. Writing on social media, one fan said: ‘How good does Lulu look on The One Show? Wearing well.’ Another wrote: ‘Fair play to Lulu, she looks smoking on The One Show.’ Others commented that she looked far younger than her years.

The grandmother-of-two has denied ever having had plastic surgery, although she has admitted trying ‘the Botox thing’. Lulu – who found fame aged 15 with her first single Shout in 1964 – said recently: ‘It’s age that has taught me how to look good. You don’t need to have good genes. All you have to do is give your energy and attention to your fashion, make-up and hair, and you’ll master all three.’
