Pass the crisps

-

HOW can a former top civil servant compare leaving the EU to exchanging a three-course meal for a packet of crisps (Mail)?

The EU does not have a free trade agreement with the U.S., China or Japan, the three largest economies in the world, accounting for nearly 50 per cent of the world’s gross domestic product ( GDP). The potential for UK trade deals with these countries is huge.

The EU, excluding the UK, has less than 15 per cent of the world’s GDP and our exports to the Continent are falling year by year, even while we have been a member.

MARY CLODE, Grouville, Jersey. IF THE EU is a three-course meal, it’s in an expensive restaurant that few of us can afford.

KAY SEELEY, Harrow, Middlesex. I WOULD rather eat crisps than remain a vassal of the EU with the unelected, arrogant Messrs Barnier and Juncker calling the tune.

DAVID WHITE, Herne Bay, Kent.
