£1m for Glencore chief

THE boss of mining giant Glencore was paid more than £1m last year.

Ivan Glasenberg, 61, had no bonuses or long-term incentives, having waived his entitlement. But he owns about 8pc of the firm, whose shares are up more than 400pc since the start of 2016. Profit at the AngloSwiss zinc, copper, nickel and cobalt producer rose 44pc in 2017 to £10.3bn.
