MOYES SAFETY FEARS

- IAN WINROW

DAVID MOYES believes the Premier League should put the safety of travelling supporters and players first and postpone games during the extreme weather.

Moyes admitted his concerns before heading to South Wales for today’s game against Swansea. The Hammers had hoped to fly but Cardiff Airport was closed, so they went by road.

‘This weather is not something we get that often in this country,’ said Moyes. ‘So maybe there has to be the odd time when the Premier League say, “Look, sorry it would be stupid for us to do something which would jeopardise supporters and staff”.

‘The Met office are saying people shouldn’t travel, especially through Cardiff and around the M4, so I’ve got to say that is a concern. And most of the trains are off. What do you do? The police are saying you should not be travelling.’
