MY WEEK

-

WHAT I HAVE BEEN UP TO...

OTHER than fighting my way through the snow into training — it’s good to be back after my little ankle issue — and fighting with the kids in the garden, I went to the Global Music Awards on Thursday with my friends from Radio X. It was great to see Kasabian pick up an award but what an experience it was to see Andrea Bocelli perform live. He sang Nessun Dorma and it immediately got me thinking about Italia 90. It has to be my favourite ever tournament.

WHO’S CAUGHT MY EYE... LEROY SANE

I’VE TRIED to pick players who have gone under the radar but this week I have to go for the obvious. I thought when Manchester City bought him last season n that he would be a long-term project but he is so much more than that. He is outstanding, one of his team’s most important players.

NEXT UP FOR ME...

A BIG game at my old club Southampton today ... then we have a nine-day wait before we face Manchester City at the bet365. My mood and plans for the coming days will only be clear after the result at St Mary’s.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO...

IT’S good to see Blossoms are back with a new album called Cool Like You and dates for a summer tour.

I Can’t Stand It is the first track they have released off the album. Check it out.
