Zlatan eyes LA as Jose admits Swede will go

- By CHRIS WHEELER

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC will leave Manchester United in the next few months, with the Swedish star admitting a move to LA Galaxy is ‘tempting’.

Jose Mourinho confirmed that United expect Ibrahimovic, 36, to leave at the end of his contract after struggling to recover from a serious knee injury.

The transfer window for Major League Soccer closes at the beginning of May but reopens in July and Ibrahimovic (below) is keen on a move to America.

‘I didn’t know that several Swedes went to MLS. That means it’s tempting to play in the United States,’ he said. ‘Los Angeles is a nice city and I’ve been there a lot on vacation. It is laid back.’

Ibrahimovic returned to training two weeks ago but is still some way off full fitness. Club sources say he seems focused on the move to LA. And yesterday Mourinho paved the way for his exit. ‘For Zlatan, we all think it’s his last season at Manchester United,’ he said. ‘he’s such an amazing player and he’s had an amazing career. Only that awful injury broke a fantastic couple of seasons he could and should have had with us.’ Meanwhile, United midfielder Scott McTominay is understood to have held talks with england manager Gareth Southgate at Carrington yesterday after speaking to new Scotland boss Alex McLeish, as he considers his international options.
