Apologist for terror

-

SOOn after he was appointed Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell apologised ‘from the bottom of my heart’ for saying in 2003 that we should start ‘honouring’ irA terrorists, who had used bombs and bullets for political ends.

So how does he explain why, to this day, there hangs on his office wall a plaque honouring as ‘martyrs’ the irA murderers who died on hunger strike in 1981?

Chillingly, this memorial to our country’s bloodthirsty enemies was presented to a beaming Mr McDonnell by gerry Kelly – himself an irA terrorist, who was given two life sentences for his involvement in the Whitehall bombings of 1973.

it’s not just the victims of those atrocities and their relatives who will be appalled. Shouldn’t every one of us be horrified to reflect that this apologist for terror could be the most prominent minister in our next government?
