Red means stop... unless you’re a bus

TRAFFIC lights are set to be rigged to go red for cars but green for buses to give public transport priority.

Buses will be fitted with GPS to track their routes and tell the lights to turn green.

The technology, which is being tested in Swansea, may not be popular with everyone. It is likely to hold up drivers travelling in the other direction as their lights suddenly go red.

Justin Davies, managing director of bus firm First Cymru, said he hoped more passengers would use the service as it became more efficient.
