THEY are the latest online sensations and can earn £1,000 a day.
For some of these dogs can boast more followers on instagram and Facebook than human celebrities such as Paul Hollywood and dawn French.
And they will be starring at this year’s Crufts, which starts today and runs until Sunday. Some are at the NEC in Birmingham to compete, others have been invited by sponsors and charities purely for their star statuses online.
They will pose with fans and even appear on their own blogs from the show. Ramsey, a Staffy from Woking, Surrey, is claimed to be Britain’s most famous dog, with 200,000 followers. His famous fans include Paul O’Grady and Sir Patrick Stewart.
Layla Flaherty, who runs animal talent and casting agency urban Paws uK, said: ‘The most well-trained, obedient dogs, who can work to scripts for TV projects or adverts, can be the main bread-winners for their owners. They could be on set for ten days, earning £1,000 per day.
‘The money they can get for a social media post ranges from £250 to thousands, depending on the number of followers they have. Cute always sells.’
