Restaurant firm delivery hopes

THE owner of restaurant chains Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito is to try out its own home deliverybusiness as it fights a slowdown in appetite for eating out.

The Restaurant Group revealed the plans as it reported a 3pc drop in sales last year, with profits falling 26pc to £56.7m.

The restaurant sector’s troubles have seen Jamie’s Italian, Strada and Prezzo close sites. The delivery-only trial similar to those offered by Deliveroo and Ubereats, starts in the coming weeks.
