EVEREST GIN FOR A MOUNTAINOUS £2,000
TREAT your mum to her favourite tipple. Cambridge Distillery’s Watenshi Gin, officially the world’s most exclusive, comes in at £70 a shot. Apparently it’s down to the way it’s distilled — drop by drop through a process that uses air pressure less than half that atop Mount Everest and temperatures colder than the South Pole. Its creator Will Lowe explains: ‘Watenshi is an expression of refined elegance, which has previously been the preserve of the finest single malts and single aged cognacs.’ Explain that to Dad when he asks why Mum’s nightcap could keep him in lager for a decade.
