VOLVO’S
new XC40 SUV, which I road tested recently, is a deserving winner of this year’s prestigious European Car of the Year award, which was announced on the eve of the Geneva Motor show and c collected by the Swedish car firm’s chief e executive Hakan Samuelsson (pictured). In a Eurovision-style tallying of points for
the industry’s Oscars it beat six other shortlisted cars: Alfa Romeo’s Stelvio, the Audi A8, BMW 5-series, Citroen C3 Aircross, Kia Stinger, and Seat Ibiza.
