The Worst Witch, 5pm, CBBC MISS PENTANGLE (Amanda Holden) is brought in as the new ‘super head’ of both Cackle’s and Pentangle’s, and her modern teaching methods irk HB. Their rivalry runs deeper than that, though, and is certainly worthy of further exploration . . .
QUIRKY NEW MOVIE
Wheeler, 6.10pm, Sky Premiere CO-WRITTEN by its star, Stephen Dorff, this mock documentary follows Dorff’s fortysomething Texan as he launches a career as a singer-songwriter in Nashville, the home of country.

Stoke City v Manchester City, 7pm, Sky Premiere League & Main Event THE Potters badly need points to avoid relegation, but a 7-2 win by City at home back in October, with a dazzling display from Kevin de Bruyne, means the home fans will be fearful.

Dirty Dancing, 8pm, 5Star THIS full-on guilty pleasure of a film boasts a fantastic soundtrack, full of sing-along Sixties hits. Patrick Swayze is the hunky holiday camp dance teacher who turns the head of a girl on the cusp of womanhood (Jennifer Grey) and forges ahead with a winning partnership!

Made In Chelsea, 9pm, E4 THIS is the first series to begin after Toff’s (pictured) victory on I’m A Celebrity, and her star has risen considerably — she’s writing a column, and turns to a ‘distinguished friend’ for help. Things are also in flux for Jamie, who, after moving on from Frankie, is introducing holiday romance Melody about town. How will that go down?

Jane, 9pm, Nat Geographic THERE’S a sense of adventure to this Baftanominated new documentary, which draws on 100 hours of rich, 16mm footage of the conservationist Jane Goodall (pictured). We start as, at 26, she embarks on her childhood dream of living with animals and writing books about them!

Spencer is at home glad-handing the guests, and Joey swiftly lives up to his reputation as easily bewildered — he’s the bell boy. Or is that ball boy?
