Putin mocks UK ‘circus’
RUSSIA last night accused MPs of putting on a ‘circus show’ in Parliament as Theresa May blamed Moscow for the attempted assassination of Sergei Skripal.
And Vladimir Putin refused to take her condemnation seriously, urging the Government to ‘sort things out from your side and then we will discuss this with you’.
Dmitry Kiselyov, a top presenter on Russian state TV, suggested Britain had poisoned Skripal to engineer a World Cup boycott.
The Russian embassy in London accused the British Government of playing a ‘dangerous game’.
It added: ‘Current policy towards Russia is a very dangerous game, which not only sends the investigation upon an unhelpful political track but also bears the risk of more serious long-term consequences for our relations.’
