Save our Sarum

-

I LIVE in Salisbury, in the news because of the nerve agent attack on a former russian spy and his daughter.

Officials have reassured us there is no danger to public health and we should go about our daily business. TV cameras are on every corner and a helicopter hovers overhead filming the streets.

Prayers are being said for the victims of this cruel and ugly crime while praise is justly heaped on the police, doctors and nurses.

When all this dies down and we reflect on its legacy, as a past mayor may I urge you to remember Salisbury is a small medieval cathedral city where tourism plays an vital part in the local economy. Please continue to visit us.

PENNY BROWN, Salisbury.
