FITBIT has launched products specifical­ly targeted at children and women as the wearable fitness tracker firm tries to turn around falling sales.

Fitbit Ace is aimed at children aged eight and above and tracks steps, sleep and encourages parents to reward their kids by following their activity from a smartphone app. The wristband, which costs £ 79.99, has been launched by the US firm in a bid to tackle childhood obesity.

Fitbit co- founder James Park said: ‘It’s more important than ever to empower the entire family to embrace a more active lifestyle.’
