Sky drops £1m spitting pundit

FOOTBALL pundit Jamie Carragher has been dropped from his £ 1million Sky Sports job until the end of the season after been filmed spitting at a fan.

Manchester United fan Andy Hughes, 42, filmed the former England and Liverpool player spit at his car while his 14-yearold daughter sat in the passenger seat.

Police said last night they had recorded the incident as an assault – but no action would be taken against Carragher, 40, pictured. Sources said that, without a desire by Mr Hughes to prosecute, it would not be in the public interest to charge him.

Sky confirmed yesterday that, following an internal review, Carragher would be banned from appearing on the channel until the end of the season.
