Lice lotions fire warning

HEAD lice lotions treating infestations have caught alight and seriously burned ten people in recent years, a watchdog has revealed.

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority yesterday issued an alert to pharmacists to warn parents that lotions which kill off nits are highly flammable.

Most cases involved children who were injured when an adult lit a cigarette near them, but one woman was scarred for life after bending down to adjust a gas fire.
