YOUR correspond­ent states that many nurses join agencies ‘where they are paid more’ and by inference exacerbate the nursing shortages.

When most people who work are out to get the best deal for themselves, why shouldn’t nurses, too, especially as they now have to pay their own way through training?

In reality, they do not gain much more money and do not have the same holiday and other entitlemen­ts that NHS nurses do.
